Back from a 6month break, I can't play anymore!
So, about 6 months ago I got bored of Guild Wars, as I normally do, and decided to take a break. I did so. And now I'm back.
I've realized there have been countless changed to skills around the classes, a lot on the monk, as well. My current situation is this:
I lost all my templates.
I don't know what is good anymore.
I believe I am overall outdated.
I plan on doing a ton of PvP, RA, TA, and if I get lucky, HA and GvG. Not so much PvE, but still some of that to finish up my campaigns.
I have all campaigns, including GW:EN, the expansion. I have almost all monk skills unlocked on my PvE monk, and have no concern about lack of skills. I can just buy a tome.
Any help? Builds, ideas, tactics, etc?
Thanks in advance

Your best bet is simply to look at PvXWiki for current meta, try out some builds and then adapt them to your style.

Builds can generally be found on pvxwiki : http://pvx.wikia.com/wiki/Main_Page
Since you were last there, they probably did not have these "meta'' tags which they now have; people are spending time to mark which builds are part of the current metagame (a.k.a. What builds are being used by the majority of the population as of now).
Well generally looking at the usage / talk pages, some PvP threads here on guru you can get some good ideas of what to do. Look through the developer-update notes on the official site to see what key skills were changed and why - not sure that I quite understand your question though...
Generally, tactics are developed through gameplay and experience, although a few key-tips can be picked up from posts of the better-players here and there, most of these have to be toned and perfected in-game anyways. But generally, Weapon-Swapping and Pre-Kiting are skills that anyone can use, regardless of their role.
Weapon Swapping being the obvious; swapping to your heal set to cast a heal spell, swapping to a defensive set when not doing anything or getting pressured, swapping to a protection staff to throw off a guardian etc... You should also work on doing this instantaneously and soon it will become mere muscle-memory
Pre-Kiting is also self-explanatory, being you run and / or move away from other people in your party (spreading out) and if you see an assassin or a warrior running towards you, run back/around so that they're useless for a longer period of time. It's also a free way to negate damage, rather than throwing up a guardian or a stance immediately.

Thanks for the replies so far!
And as much as I HATE using meta builds, as a monk, it is almost necessary T_T;
Most of my improv builds are bad, anyway. :P

Please also refer to the Stickied Monk Guide. It contains a lot of basic, valuable information including notes on Tactics and Skills.

But otherwise it's tough especially as a monk, I took a week break and I spent about an hour and a half getting slaughtered in RA only getting 3 glad points before I was able to get the hang of it again.
God only knows what 6 months would be like. If you were decent before I'd recommend going to AB to practice or just focusing on one or two specific things until you start doing them properly. e.g. focus especially on your positioning even if you lose.
